Introduction

Atlas holds regular software workshops of one week each, about four times a year. Typically one or two workshops per year take place outside CERN, the rest is held at CERN. Topics usually include a broad variety of items which are of interest to Atlas computing, but are somewhat focused on the software aspects, covering both the TDR Fortran77 based software and the Object Oriented software which we are building right now.

Every Atlas member interested in these topics is welcome to attend without any special registration formalities (although some registration may be required in order to arrange for accomodation).

The workshops are usually organised such that plenary sessions with topics of general interest are dealt with in the mornings, whereas the afternoons are free for parallel sessions of working groups, with reports to the plenary at the end of the week. During Monday mornings, we try to give a Tutorial introduction into Atlas Software for newcomers and those who want to know more. Some meetings of non-public committees may be scheduled during the afternoons.
