1) Version 3.00
PTC is now officially integrated in MAD-X. Version 3.00 contains a recent PTC
version.
ptc-twiss with initial coordinates has been tested (HB). JJ requested
printing of eigenvalues etc.
ptc-track is in progress, yet to be tested. Beam-beam may be added in
the future.
ptc-matching has not yet been done.
IBS has been improved (FZ). Vertical dispersion has been included.
SELECT, FLAG=MAKETHIN has been completely rewritten (HB). The new
version is not compatible with the old one (a new slicing file is
available in the LHC V6.5 directory).
N.B.: Single or double quotes are not required around names in
selections by class or pattern. MAD-X converts names without quotes to
lowercase (and NOT to uppercase as in MAD-8). There are no quotes in
the LHC sequence files.
RdM's new matching procedure will be included later.
2) MAD-X Day
To be held on September 23d in the building 6 auditorium.
Version 3.00 will be officially announced.

3) Makethin bug (HB)
FLATTEN before a MAKETHIN was found to cause a shift of the
longitudinal positions of the magnet slices (TR). All slices of a
magnet are displaced by the same distance, up to 5 mm in the LHC.
Helmut found exponential formats with only 6 decimal digits in the
program code. These are most likely responsible for this bug (confirmed
after the meeting) and will have to be changed.
