Dear Berndt and Peter, Thank you for preparing the draft summary of the Chamonix meeting, which I found a really good first iteration. Since the whole heavy-ion community should fully support the document, I found the weighting a touch strong on dileptons. I thus agree with most of the comments that have been made so far. In addition I think that the observation of small purely statistical fluctuations in the temperature () and flavor content (K/pi) of central Pb+Pb collisions points to early equilibration of the produced hadronic system, a prerequisite for the QGP transition. Perhaps you could mention this at the appropriate place. Finally I think it is rather important to find a threshold for our QGP signals in order to make a compelling case. In the final paragraph I therefore propose a sentence like: Detection of a threshold at lower collision energy and/or in lighter colliding systems would provide strongly supporting evidence for the proposition that matter created in Pb+Pb collisions at the highest SPS energy indeed is initially in the QGP state. With best regards, Peter
