Alex's results as of December 7 (towards December, 2000 publication)
Here is table
of results (signal rates, 1-CLb(115), -2lnQ(115), mass limits) for individual
and combined limits.
-
LEP combined
CLs,
-2lnQ,
1-CLb
-
LEP combined by channel
-
Leptons (ee and mumu) CLs,
-2lnQ,
1-CLb
-
Neutrinos CLs,
-2lnQ,
1-CLb
-
4-Jets CLs,
-2lnQ,
1-CLb
-
Taus CLs,
-2lnQ,
1-CLb
-
Leptons+Neutrinos+Taus
CLs,
-2lnQ,
1-CLb
This is no longer as relevant as before but here is the DLO combination
anyway:
-
3 sigma search potentials for combined inputs: by
channel and by experiment,
-
1-CLb versus -2lnQ for mh=115
and a zoom
of the interesting region with our observed result indicated by the vertical red line. The effect of
candidates arriving in the last days can be estimated by adding -2ln(1+S/B) for the new candidate(s)
to the red line. This is only an approximation since the effect of the additional luminosity on 1-CLb
is ignored, but if the additional luminosity is relatively small, then the approximation is relatively
good.
-
Plots for DELPHI and
OPAL of -2lnQ versus test mass illustrating
the expected behavior of a 115 GeV Higgs signal (the brown curves).
