OPAL at 200 GeV and above

First e+ e- collisions at 204 GeV : 7 November 1999

Shown to the right is a candidate event of the type e+ e- annihilates to give a quark and antiquark. These in turn form into two jets of hadrons, seen as two sprays of particles in the detector.

Events from e+ e- collisions at 200 GeV during 1999

Some of the first events recorded at 200 GeV. Here are the first W+W- events seen by OPAL at 200 GeV centre-of-mass energy. Follow the PS/GIF button links to see full-sized versions of the events suitable for printing. The quality of the larger pictures is much better than the thumbnail versions included here.
