The OPAL Barrel Muon Detector |
The barrel part of the muon detector consists of 110 large-area drift chambers. Each chamber is 1.2 meters wide and 90 mm deep. Forty-four chambers are mounted on each side of the barrel, ten in the top module and twelve in the bottom module.
