Before putting information in www.cern.ch , read these instructions. Once you have an AFS account or you get an account in the www1 cluster, you can publish information.
The way to publish the information is different depending on which platform you work:
- Unix
- There are three options:
- nfs mount the www directory on your machine. Before doing that, you have to send an e-mail to www-support@www with the name of the directory you want to mount and the name of your computer. With this information www will export the directory to your machine.
- Login to wwwlab and work directly with your files in the directory assigned to you. Use your AFS username and password to login. If you need to change the password use kpasswd.
- In case the directory where you have your Web files is in AFS,
the directory must have in its ACL lookup and read access for cern:nodes for public access.
- MacIntosh
- After editing the files on your Mac, move them to the server following these instructions.
- PC
- After editing the files on your PC, ftp them to wwwlab.
