This is a WWW Service for helping information providers at CERN to scan or process pictures to be put in the Web.

Send an e-mail to photo@www.cern.ch asking for a scanning service and explaining your case.
Send the pictures by internal mail to the person who answer the former e-mail.
Once the work is done you will get an answer by e-mail.
The files can be fetched from www.cern.ch by anonymous ftp. This means you need a ftp software installed in your machine to get the files. These are the instructions from Macintosh and PC platforms:

Steps from Macintosh using fetch:

Host: www.cern.ch
User ID: anonymous
Passwd: ( enter your e-mail address )
Directory: pub/Images
Press OK
Select the file you want and Get File
Close Connection and Quit

Steps from PC using WinFTP (folder Comms):

Choose New in the Session menu.
Host: www.cern.ch
Username: anonymous
Password: ( enter your e-mail address )
Working directory: pub/Images
Press Connect
Change Mode to Binary
Select the file you want and Copy
Choose Exit from the Session menu.
