Neutral current four-fermion events are analysed in final states with two jets and either two electrons or two muons. The production cross section for this process is measured within kinematical limits, defined by the acceptance of the OPAL detector. In addition differential event rates for the invariant masses of the leptonic and the hadronic system are compared with the Monte Carlo predictions. The data analysed correspond to a total of about 650 pb$^-1$ recorded with the OPAL detector in the years 1997 to 2000 at centre-of-mass energies between 183 and 208 GeV.
