Non-commutative geometries can be caused by the quantisation of strings.
This would result in a non-abelian structure of QED. Multi-photon events
selected with the OPAL detector are used to study possible signatures at
the highest energy e$^+$e$^-$ collisions at LEP. The analysis is discussed 
and limits on the model parameters are extracted under certain assumptions.
