Precision Tau and Electron Neutral Current Asymmetry Meausurements             
                 from the Tau Polarization at OPAL                             
  
New precision measurements of the tau lepton polarization and its              
forward-backward asymmetry at the Z resonance using the complete OPAL LEPI     
dataset are described. The measurements are based on a simultaneous            
analysis of the tau->rho nu, tau->pi nu, tau-> e nu nu, tau-> mu nu nu,        
and tau-> a_1 nu decays from a sample of  150k e+e- -> tau+ tau-               
candidates corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 163/pb. A maximum      
likelihood fit to kinematic decay observables and the polar angle              
of the tau-  when in the range -0.9<cos theta<0.9 yields the tau and           
electron neutral current asymmetries. These measurements provide a             
precision test of the hypothesis of  neutral current lepton universality       
and an accurate determination of sin^2 theta_W within the context of the       
Standard Model.
