High pT RAA check

pp reference

pp reference for HFE

• pT < 12 GeV /c : obtained from pp cross section at 2.76 TeV and 7 TeV
• pT > 12 GeV /c : obtained from pp cross section at 7 TeV (scaled by using FONLL)

pp reference for HFM

• pT < 12 GeV /c : obtained from pp cross section at 7 TeV
• pT > 12 GeV /c : obtained by extrapolating to higher pT the pp reference in 2 - 12 GeV /c
  • the pp terence is consistent with upper limit of FONLL up to 20 GeV /c

RAA comparison

HFE RAA with ATLAS pp reference at high pT

HFE RAA with modified pp reference at high pT

• An exercise to check how HFE RAA change if the pp reference (pT>12 GeV /c, ATLAS pp cross section) is same as HFM, i.e. consistent with FONLL upper band.

New pp reference and RAA

• use correct FONLL prediction (pp, 5.03 TeV) to determine energy scaling from 7 TeV to 5.02 TeV
• apply corrections of different rapidity range between ALICE and ATLAS
  • based on FONLL HFE prediction in ALICE y acceptance and in ATLAS y acceptance
