This page is mostly a collection of private notes for organizing work
on the ATLAS MDT Phase 2 "Hit Extractor" board/system.
The hit extractor system must perform the following functions:
- Receive all data from MDTs at up to 400kHz per tube
- About 1100 MDT chamber output streams
- Probably (2) 4.8Gb/s GBT links per chamber
- Receive pre-trigger hit information from RPC/TPC sector logic
- How many fibers? What rate?
- Send MDT hits within time window to MDT trigger processor
- How many fibers? What rate?
- On LxA (L1A? L0A?), send data to DAQ (1MHz LxA rate?)
- How many fibers? What rate?
