Useful Info for Black Holes and TeV Scale Gravity

Current Models

Lots of models exist at the moment. All invoke compactified extra dimensions to reduce the scale of quantum gravity from 1019 GeV to the TeV region.

  • Use semi-classical where cross section is geometric: σ ∝ πR2 valid far above the Planck Scale MD
  • Closer to the planck scale Quantum Gravity effects are large and these are not fully understood, so place lower limit on BH mass above MD
  • Split fermion model explains range of SM Yukawa couplings via wave function overlaps across the split branes
  • distance between quark & lepton branes constrained W cross section differences between qq'→W→qq' and qq'→W→lν
  • In BlackMax the final burst phase takes care of the conservations like B, L, flavour, colour etc
  • black holes lose all info on the initial state other than mass, spin, EM charge and colour

Questions

  • What are mass multipoles?
