New DT Project Manager is Ignacio Redondo. Nominated by the system manager because of his expertise and availability to work at CERN full time for the next 2 years.

Framework & production

Need to converge on the funds for the new storage system (lustre). There is a VM that inports lustre as nfs, with centOS that should allow to use the cmssw 10_X.

B physics

Martino expired. Paolo R. also expired but likely will be renewed. Alessio also expired as trigger contact for BPH, will continue ulntil a replacement is found. Paolo's student very happy with his work, will be back for the laurea magistrale. P'5: working on the fitting algo. Looking at sidebands (blind analysis). Fixing the open issues (efficiency trends previously present). Note is updated (AN-18-138).

Heavy New Physics

Heavy neutrinos. All backgrounds and signal data processed. One data driven method is removed because the new selection kills it. Main backgrounds: tt. tW. DY were dominant. New selection now kills the tt so the old methodology can not evaluate precisely the top backgrounds. DY will remain data driven.

VBS

Things going ahead, but slowly. Latino FW is a bit slow in the evolution.Matteo added the boosted jet category. Need to do some post processing.

WH_SS

No news. Working with matteo on the Latino FW

Same sign dileptons

Interacted with prof. Frankton, he has a model for double charged Higgs. Could be used for a signal driven extension.

Triggerless

Gaia got a 3 month INFN fellowship to set up the 40 MHz DAQ at the sector test. The sector test had troubles and as such the work has been delayed. The work has been moved upstair.

Detector

DT

Nicola Pzzobon and Fabio Montecassiano deployed the firmware for the BX assignment in the FPGA ()KCU1500) that is part of the 40MHz readout. The goal is to deploy the same frmware in P5 asap.

Giulio is a statistics student. HEworked on an algo to identify track clusterd to build variables to improve the ANN that produces the tag. Martina Fumanelli, aso a student in stats. She will work on the anomaly detection algo.

Articles in the IRIS catalogue have been insested by mistake. Paolo will circulate the list. Notte della ricerca: cloud group will participate. Trigerless chain will be presented.
