Analysis

B physics

Alberto: analysis is pre-approved. The highlight, first time CMS measures DeltaM_s. Results compatible w/ SM. Alberto designated speaker at Moriond.

Heavy New Physics

VBS

Completed documentation. QCD background. Found some bug in the rootplizer. Update next monday and going for the pre-approve soon. New target is LHCP. Go for an update even if not everything is in place. The bug is affecting the control regions and the Drell-Yan. Pat: new ideas about the background.

WH_SS

Preapproval talk from the last week. Several comments. Siew working on the combination. the control regions were different on the various final states. Apparently bugs. Optimization studies goingo on.

Same sign dileptons

Alberto worked out the alignment of the framework with all the samples. Also rare SM processes, neglected before, are now included. From a first check in all control regions there is a very good agreement. From a first look to the MC we are more sensitive to Higgs signals. This could fill up some of the gap present seen before. We can now cross check the work done with Siew in the Latino framework. Alberto: it would be interesting to compare directly Ugo's selection into the Siew framework.

EPR

Paolo Ronchese: DQM release validation. When Enrico has some spare time, we can get some extra EPR. Siew: 3 EPR have been credited last year. Asking for extra 0.5 this year for the convenership role. In 2020 there is the Institutional EPR. Roberto, Sandro, Martino will do some research. Update the table w/ all the members.

Trigger

Alberto-Marco-Sandro: at CERN the fibre is split (1 fibre- 4 channels). We tested the splitting, everything is working. The KCU has a different driver, some work to be done. Connect MB3 which has 2 OBDT, using 2 channels. The OBDT on the ST is programmed with the channels scrambled wrt the KCU. The new mapping in the KCU will manage to process the channels. Fabio will be at CERN w/ MarcoB. 40MHz readout will work during the MWGR.

Detector

DT

Meeting w/ Ciemat was good. Anna presented at the DT meeting the sensitivity studies that finally allow to turn the Fluka simulation results into hit rates in the DTs.

Timing Layer

New cooling design from LIP. Good in terms of routing. In PD need to understand what to do given that the design is likely not to be the one of PD-MI.

Tracker/tracking

Friday meet bacchetta. TEC modules in PD for the museum. Nazar asked about tracking project. Torino. He might work on the 4D tracking.

Paolo: Thursday will have a short meeting about LHCp organization. Inviting ppl to join. at 11:00. Paolo: on Feb 27 there is a workshop about the progetto premiale. There is discussion regarding labs, could have implication about MTD spaces.
