+Open call for the UNIPhD international PhD course deadline march 8: please share this information with the conveners of the PAGs where you work and with all colleagues who could know people interested. write proposals for theses. Related to this, everyone who posted already a proposal for a thesis should translate it in english.

+Selection of L1 and L2 responsibilities: the search committee will meet on march 2 for the decision about L1 conveners and on march 16 for L2. The LR will be asked to suggest a ranking before these dates. The list of the candidates will be available at the end of the week. Lucia is going to schedule a meeting of the italian community in the first days of the next week.

+Analysis workshop March 10-11 in presence in Firenze.

+Two INFN grants (assegni di ricerca):

-one for tracker, main activity: test of mapsa modules+sinergy with another activity (50139 euro).

-one to replace Daniele Rigoni (money is enough for 15 months, ie 29813,95 euro) to work on MTD.

+Shifters required for the central operations. Feb 28th start of cosmic run: additional shifter required. The situation seems to be dramatic, there are not enough shifters.

+Theses awards: first step of the pre-selection ended a few days ago, next phase will start on wednesday.

+LHCb is in a hurry for the velo installation foreseen for march 21, closure of the cavern march 24. In addition they ask for an extension of the september technical stop fron 1 to 3 weeks. In this case this year there will be only 10 weeks of run.

+ Rocco: work ongoing on trigger efficiency and scale factor. Present this last point on 22 march. Contacted by Pelliccioni, there is another group working on a similar analysis, since the two are similar they asked us if it is possible to merge them.
