Cryogenic Current Monitor Project @ CERN

AD CCC implementation

The CCC is installed in Sector 2A between the quadrupoles QDS15(v) and QFN16(h). Integrated in these magnets are the BPM's UVT1500 and UHZ1602 respectively.

Open Issues

  1. Acquisition with scope of AD cycle. how to step acquisition window to 80s? Can only set it to 50s or 100s.
  2. Find optimal SQUID settings
  3. Prepare cables:
    • 2pin-lemo to 2pin-lemo
    • 2pin-lemo to BNC or 00-lemo
    • Acquire pressure signal directly from sensor and not through PLC (results in reduced resolution)
  4. Descrepancy between readings of PT100 temperatures are wider than they should be
  5. Redo PLC hardware setup and wiring
    1. Check/update connection table
    2. Install PLC in NIM crate
    3. Decide if to use breakout cables
  6. Change acquisition SW
  7. Change patch panels for CCC signals
  8. Fix and make better connection box and respective filter for calibration signal
  9. Prepare insulation amplifiers
  10. MD measurements
    • AD injection jump: trigger kicker without beam or any other system active
    • AD injection jump: have an injection with smaller number of antiprotons
