Top Electrons
Plan
Produce EJETS/TTDIL bottom line numbers of
- Top signal
- WJets/WJets and QCD background as appropriate
For the following electron IDs and show results in the form of a plot
- Y axis - signal yield (with appropriate error bars)
- X axis - background yield (with appropriate error bars)
Actions for me
- Ensure that all of these IDs become easily accessible in CMSSW
Common denominator
- Apply and document your usual analysis selection when reporting results...
- Remember to include d0 and conversion rejection!
Electron IDs to apply
CIC
- The CIC ID uses many variables. Instructions on how to get a decision from CMSSW are given here
- List of variables used (decision)
- Et
- eSeed/pIn
- fbrem
- H/E
- sigmaIEtaIEta
- dEtaIn
- dPhiIn
- missinghits (for 3_1_X not needed to be implemented)
- tkIso, ecalIso, hcalIso (cone sizes?)
- d0 corrected for beamspot or vertex (in MC it doesn't matter, but be careful!)
- List of variables used not in the above list (classification)
- E/P (E is super cluster energy, P is pin)
VBTF
- There is currently no implementation in CMSSW for this ID, however, for these test studies it can easily be implemented in an analyzer / ntuple looper. The selection cuts on simple variables in the EE and EB.
- sigmaIEtaIEta
- H/E
- dEtaIn
- dPhiIn
- RelIso (note different definition in the EB and EE)
- EB - Relative Isolation = sum ( Max(EcalIso - 1, 0) + hcalIso + tkIso) / pT
- EE - Relative Isolation = sum ( EcalIso + hcalIso + tkIso) / pT
VBTF ID defined for different efficiency working points - which I round to the nearest 5%.
