Diffractive D3PD

Existing ATLAS+ALFA D3PD

MinBias D3PDs containing ATALS and ALFA information are described in detail in ALFAMeasurementsSamples. These samples contain tracking and some calorimeter information.

There can be some problems with large noise levels in certain calorimeters. It can be due to incorrect condition database settings, since the samples were produced manually.

The available datasets are listed in the table below.

It seems that there are problems with calorimeter information. A comparison of distributions obtained from a sample of run 206881 data and MC used in diffractive dijet analysis is presented below. It seems that in the data there are hot spots and cell significance produces too many cells with sig in (-4, 4).

Usefulness of these samples in analyses

Rapidity gaps

When rapidity gap analysis is concerned these samples contain all necessary information in particular the following cluster moments: CELL_SIGNIFICANCE and CELL_SIG_SAMPLING. Description of the moments can be found in the analysis TWiki page.
