ECAL - Slew Rate

Introduction

Samples

WZEG skim:

  • /EG/Run2010A-WZEG-Nov4Skim_v1/RAW-RECO
  • /Electron/Run2010B-WZEG-Nov4Skim_v1/RAW-RECO

Our reduced ntuples available here:

  • /castor/cern.ch/user/d/deguio/ECAL/SlewRate/

Selections

Select all rec hits in EB with gain switch at the max sample. Example of code to analyze the ntuples here

Some Results:

1. Example of pulse shape.

  • Fit with EB shape from TB. Pedestal fixed, free parameters Amax and Tmax. The sample before the max sample is excluded from the fit.

2. Observed amplitude of the sample before max vs expected amplitude.

  • The expected amplitude is estimated from the amplitude of the max sample as
    Amax-1 exp = Amax*f(max-1)/f(max),
where f is the TB shape fitted to the samples, excluding the sample before max.
  • slew rate limit around 3750 ADC counts
  • indication of non linearity above 3500 ADC counts

3. Expected and observed amplitude of the sample before the max as a function of Tmax
