This page should be of some help in locating data for a specific run. Unfortunately most of my knowledge is hopelessly out of date and may be wrong!

Find data using the RunSummary tool on the CMS WBM page.

Data is now kept locally in EOS, at least during the 2015 pre-run commissioning.

Documentation on EOS:

Before using eos, execute 

  % source /afs/cern.ch/project/eos/installation/cms/etc/setup.sh

Then you can do e.g.: 

  % eos ls -l /eos/cms/store/data/Commissioning2015/Cosmics/RAW/v1/000/235/788/00000

The old DBS database seems to have gone away. Need to find out what the replacement is.
