Praesi's private production

Overview

Current athena releases used by me are:

  • Generation: 8.0.8
  • everything else with 9.0.1

File name description:

  • different parts of the name are separated with a dot ".".
  • "_." is allowed only once and separates the unchanged front part of one series from the numbering end part which by convention always has 5 digits: "._00001" and ends with ".pool.root".
  • The name starts with the process number, e.g. 004020 for ttH(120)-> lnub jjb bb
  • Second is a small process description, e.g. tth120_bb
  • for each transformation (e.g. generation, simulation, ...) a text is added to the filename naming the transformation and the release used:
    • evgen808 ... generation with 8.0.8
    • g4default901 ... simulation with 9.0.1 default layout (will be renamed to final later)
    • g4initial901 ... simulation with 9.0.1 initial layout
    • g4digi901 ... digitization with 9.0.1
    • ESD901 ... ESD production with 9.0.1
    • AOD901 ... AOD production with 9.0.1
  • a file which went through all the steps from generation to AOD production would look like

004020.tth120_bb.evgen808.g4default900.g4digi901.ESD901.AOD901._00023.pool.root

The base directory for all output files is

/castor/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/

Pool file catalogs:

All catalogs are in
/afs/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/atlas/batch/poolcatalogs/
and are named accordingly (e.g.):
  • PoolFileCatalog_simul.xml
  • PoolFileCatalog_digi.xml
  • PoolFileCatalog_ESD901.xml
  • PoolFileCatalog_AOD901.xml

Generation

  • Athena release 8.0.8
  • production script and LSF job files are in
/afs/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/atlas/batch/evgen/
  • 10k events of ttH->lnub jjb bb have been produced so far for mh=100, 110, 120 and 130 GeV.
  • The files are in:
<base>/evgen/data/
004018.tth100_bb.evgen808._00001.pool.root
004019.tth110_bb.evgen808._00001.pool.root
004020.tth120_bb.evgen808._00001.pool.root
004021.tth130_bb.evgen808._00001.pool.root

Simulation

  • In total 1000 events have been simulated with mH = 120 GeV
  • Athena release 9.0.x
  • production script and LSF job files are in
/afs/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/atlas/batch/simulation/
  • 500 events of ttH->lnub jjb bb have been produced so far for m_h=120 GeV, 9.0.*0*, final layout and |eta|<3.4.
  • The files are in:
<base>/simul/data/G4/004020.tth120_bb.evgen808.g4default900._000XX.pool.root
where XX is 01 to 50. Every file contains 10 events.

  • 500 events of ttH->lnub jjb bb have been produced so far for m_h=120 GeV, 9.0.*1*, final layout and |eta|<3.4.
  • The files are in:
<base>/simul/data/G4/004020.tth120_bb.evgen808.g4default901._000XX.pool.root
where XX is 51 to 100. Every file contains 10 events.

Digitization

  • Athena release 9.0.x
  • production script and LSF job files are in
/afs/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/atlas/batch/digitization/
  • 1000 events of ttH->lnub jjb bb have been produced so far for m_h=120 GeV, muons off.
  • The files are in:
<base>/digi/G4/data/004020.tth120_bb.evgen808.g4default90Y.g4digi901._0000X.pool.root
where Y is 0 for the X = 1 to 5 (simulated with 9.0.0)

and

Y = 1 for X = 6 to 10 (simulated with 9.0.1).

Every file contains 100 events.

See also DigiTization.

ESD and AOD production

  • Athena release 9.0.x
  • production script and LSF job files are in
/afs/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/atlas/batch/ESDproduction/
/afs/cern.ch/user/w/wildauer/atlas/batch/AODproduction/

ESD and AOD production are running but have some troubles. No final files have been produced. See also EsdProduction and AodProduction.

  • Some files are in:
<base>/ESD/data
<base>/AOD/data
