CMS RPC Test at GIF

New Set-up 30-Jan-2014

A trolley with several gaps from the RE4 production plus one Re3/3 chamber and one Re4/ 3 chamber have been installed in the source area.

For the List of gaps and chambers installed on this trolley and for the mapping of the connections see the file: 18042014_selection_gap_qc.xls" >click here

Test Procedure and Goal (?)

  • HV scan (to monitor the resistivity) with ARGON and SOURCE ON every month.
  • HV scan with gas mixture SOURCE ON/OFF every week
  • Current monitoring stability at HV = 9.6 kV (RE3 ) and HV = 9.3 kV (RE4) (every ?.. HV = for ..?).

Hardware set-up 2013.

  • two new RE4 gaps (Bottom RE4-3 002 and 009)
  • two old RE3 chambers (154 and 65) [65 TOPNARROW not reacting]
  • Mapping file champer/gaps: click here
  • Chambers info: click here
  • Pressure, temperature and humidity datalogger files: click here
  • All data files (.csv) are afterwards updated with the actual P, T and H from the datalogger, NOT from the QC4 lab
  • Module ID: see sticker on the back of the module
  • All Argon measurements preceded with at least 24h argon flux
