NEW! Mini-tree studies to do (please sign up if you are doing one or more of them!):

Investigate the NPhotons Data-MC discrepancy in EG, barrel and endcap ( following list of actions and plots required):

  • Remake Tototuples after applying GOODCOLL filter (data version) to EG SD and MC version of GOODCOLL to EG MC, before running IPN Tree Producer (being done by Anna) Please use these new Tototuples for this study once they are ready
  • Reverse check to remake EG SD differently: Take GOODCOLL skim dataset and 'by hand' apply the SD maker (EG part as we do for MC) to it, before running IPNTreeProducer.
  • The number of SC per event (not photons) -> Addressed by Olivier and Jean-Baptiste, now fixed in miniTree.
  • The number of photons per event with additional H/E cut: H/E<0.05 -> Addressed by Jean-Baptiste, now fixed in miniTree.
  • The number of photons per event with Swiss Cross cut removed, and t he number of SC per event with Swiss Cross cut removed
  • Barrel and Endcap (but seperately): Try successive cuts in RawSCEt (>4, 10 GeV)
  • Barrel and Endcap (but seperately): By cutting on HLTbits, try considering events flagged only by each path seperately (checking possibility that some HLT paths are the source of the disagreement). Start with highest-thresshold paths (there are 21 paths in all)

Investigate possible tightening of Swiss Cross Anti-spike cut to 0.9 for barrel

  • Apply Additional cut: Veto SC with recoflag kOutofTime (recoflag=2) and examine relevant distn's (Swiss cross, R19, R9)
  • Plot of SwissCross vs. EtRawSC for 0.9<!SwissCross<0.95)
  • Other 2d plots: data and MC of all pairwise combinations of the following variables: SCRawEt,Nxtal,SwissCross, SeedTime for all SC and then for only those with .9<SwissCross<0.95
  • Data-MC plot of largest intra-SC time difference (all rechit times in SC)

Investigate and characterize Endcap "Spikes" (the proper word in the endcap is "discharges")

  • etaphi map of endcap spikes (identified by existing Swiss Cross cut)
  • SCRawEt spectrum of endcap spikes
  • Nxtal of endcap spikes
  • recotime of endcap spikes
  • 2d plots data and MC of all pairwise combinations of the following variables: Et,Nxtal,SwissCross, recotime

for all EE SC and for only those failing existing Swiss Cross

Preparatory studies for diphoton performance plots

  • Trigger selection study (effcy's wrt EG total and pt,eta dependances)

Requirements for next version of SC/Photon plots:

  • Additional cuts: Veto SC with recoflag kOutofTime (recoflag=2), and use SeverityLevels instead of explicit Swiss cross definition, veto severity levels kSwissCross and kBad
  • SC Plots independent of promotion to photon . 358p3 has SC promotion to photons for SCEt(corrected)>5 GeV only. So need special plots for SC passing the selection: rawSCEt> 2,4 and 10 GeV, Spike and fiducial as usual, but where quantities are not acessed by photon object but by SC object.

Location of macros

miniTree macros

  • The latest macros can be found on CVS: cvs co -d UserCode/IpnTreeProducer/macros UserCode/Morgan/IpnTreeProducer/macros
  • Compile the macros: g++ TotoAna_miniTree.C `root-config --libs --cflags` -o TotoAna_miniTree and g++ plotDataMC_TDR_miniTree.C `root-config --libs --cflags` -o plotDataMC_TDR_miniTree
  • Execute the executables wink
  • please COMMIT your changes if you have some: cvs update; cvs commit in the macros directory
