Integration of the Standalone LVL1 system with the combined partition:

All the work that has been undertaken was done in the LAR_PARTITION (user lardaq) where both VMICs were booted from its own hard disk. To minimize the administrative support since in combined runs the user is different, we made both VMICs to be netbooted. For the cosmic run, the system was integrated into a combined partition, and we used 4 ADCs (two ADCs for each detector side). The settings used are:

  • runtype used is: Physics
  • ADC configuration file: startADC =1, nOfSamPreTrig =55, nOfSamPostTrig=3 and nOfPhysicsSam=55.
  • UsbController configuration file: we set gains to 1 and monitor the first 4 channels of each cable ==> 16 channels for each side.
  • The LArg Barrel crates used are crate 13 on the C-side and crate 5 on the A-side.
  • The trigger is with Tiles only (run #1586 RunDisplay1) and with Tiles & RPCs, in this case there many runs but I will just show the most important run (run# 1173552450 RunDisplay2).

A root macro was created to read the datafiles, search for signal peaks, calculate the mean pedestal values and RMS values for all 32 channels. The signal plots are for signals where [Max peak - (Mean Ped + 5*RMS)] > 0.
