This page is built to explore why L1TCSCTF occasionally assigns events to strip 0 and wire 0 which corresponds to non-physical events.

The green table contains two events which do not exhibit non-physical hits. The red table contains five events exhibiting non-physical hits.

Green => A CSC block hit that also appeared as a track block hit

Blue => A Track block hit that is in ME11

Red => A Track block hit that is a Non-physical "0 Strip/0 Wire" hit

In the track finder output, each row corresponds to a different track (i.e. Event 7475211 has two tracks identified by the track finder). The second coloumn is the bunch crossing, the third column is the track quality, and the fourth column is the track mode. A track quality of "-1" means there was no "track rank." Upon reviewing the complete track finder output, it is noticed that NOT all non-physical events are associated with bunch crossing 6. HOWEVER, ALL non-physical events are associated with track quality 3!

Further review of the track finder output shows that ALL non-physical events have track mode: 18, 17, 16, 14, 12, or 11. ALL of these track modes involve a drift tube in the track trigger. Further, they are the ONLY modes which incorporate a drift tube into the track trigger. Thus, it is likely that non-physical event production is directly related to track triggering in one of these modes. The same holds for all non-physical events in "/SingleMuon/Run2015D-v1/RAW run=256630 lumi=34" dataset files.
