Put the following:

Section "Device" Identifier "Intel Graphics" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" EndSection

in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf, create the directory /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ if it does not exist. This must be done as root:

$ sudo mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ $ sudo cp 20-intel.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
