Access to LXPLUS and Manchester HEP machines

From Linux/Mac computer

Open a terminal and write:

ssh -Y yourcernaccount@lxplus.cern.ch (LXPLUS)
ssh -Y yourmanchesteraccount@pc201X.hep.manchester.ac.uk (Manchester) (where X can be 3 or 4)

From Windows computer

Install PuTTY and XMing. Start XMing so it is running in the background which allows the use of a GUI when connecting on remote machines, then start PuTTY.

In Host Name (Category: Session) write:

yourcernaccount@lxplus.cern.ch (LXPLUS) / yourmanchesteraccount@pc201X.hep.manchester.ac.uk (Manchester) (where X can be 3 or 4)

In Category: Connection>SSH>X11 check the "Enable X11 forwarding". Finally click "open" to connect.

List of Safety Training Courses

List of safety trainings:

  • TLCX215 Radiation Awareness Training (Level 1)

  • THS1E Online Health and Safety Induction

  • TBF26 Data Protection

  • THS42 Laser Safety Training (for Laser lab)

  • PSI Health and Safety Induction/Refresher Course (for Laser lab)

Gitlab repository

https://gitlab.cern.ch/manchester-diamond-3d

To have access to the repository you will need access to the mail e-group: manchester-diamond-3d

Use this link to add yourself to cern mailing lists: https://e-groups.cern.ch/e-groups/EgroupsSearchForm.do

Note: If you work on your terminal and you can't "git push" in a project because your CERN password was changed, do:

git config --system --unset credential.helper

and try "git push" again with your new password

laserlabdocumentation

Includes a description and user guide documentation of the laser lab at PSI, for diamond processing and TCT measurements, and a "processing traveller" form used to keep track of the diamond processing tests. [ link ]
