Autocar winter tyre reviews:
1. Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+
The Performance+ dominates our snow tests with an almost two per cent advantage over the next best, stablemate Dunlop. This is the best option if you prioritise quiet running, because it wins the cabin noise test.
2. Continental WinterContact TS 860
The WinterContact TS 860 has been something of a phenomenon in our winter tests, having won the last two. It just fails to make a hat-trick but it comes mighty close, and remains a great tyre. There is very little between our winner and the WinterContact in the wet, where both are the best in the field. Noise levels are highlighted as a downside.
3. Michelin Alpin 6
It’s less sure-footed in the snow, where it lacks the traction of the best when applying lock; in the dry it is close to the best. It is a long way off the winning Nokian at the pumps, but then most were. More problematic is that it is the noisiest tyre on test.
4. Dunlop Winter Sport 5
Its success is built in Finland on the snow, where it’s second only to its test-winning stablemate Goodyear and its brand-new Performance+. So it’s no surprise that it takes the handling win and podiums in the rest of the tests. It drops to fifth in the key wet tests.
5=. Vredestein Wintrac Pro
Strong in wet and dry, but snow grip and fuel economy need work. Br> 5=. Falken Eurowinter HS0. It tops only the Toyo in the snow where it has a good balance but lacks bite compared with the best. It’s back at the rear of the pack in the dry, feeling soft around the handling track although its time is close to the best. However the elephant in the room is fuel economy. It was poor in the last test, but it’s further off the pace here, using around seven per cent more fuel than the Nokian.
7. Nokian WR Snowproof
Nokian’s previous forte has been snow grip, but here it only manages fourth, yet the margin is smaller.
8. Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3
there is precious little between it and the fifth-placed Vredestein. Impressive result from an ageing design, but newer rivals are a step ahead.
9. Hankook i*cept RS2
This tyre was runner-up in our last two winter tests, so it’s a mystery why it drops to one place off the bottom this year. In the wet, it finishes last. 10. Toyo Snowprox S954
It is lacking when compared to newer competitors. Across all snow tests it is more than 10 per cent behind the leader.

connect to hotel wifi with login web page

1. Click on the wifi ssid
2. Forget connection
3. Re connect
4. Open Chrome (no splash screen to enter password.)
5. Push the forward navigation arrow.
6. Splash screen appears, enter your password and other info needed by hotel

I was able to solve this problem by opening a new Open-incognito tab, then typing a web address (I used bbc.com). I was then directed to the hotel's sign-in page.

To connect, go to settings, connections, wifi, then select the hotel's wifi. Once it says connected click on the network that you connected to. Then click on the button that says manager router. This will cause the web page to pop up to enter the user name and password.
