Dear all;

Some news/announcements follow (you can find them also in the https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Main/Cms-SusyBsmNews)

0. Contributions for PTDR draft version 2;

Please send them by Friday Oct. 14. Official deadline is October 24 to Albert but we need some time to incorporate them. Please stick to the 3-page intended maximum.

1. SUSYBSM CPT week

We have a 2-h (parallel) session in CPT week (most probably Oct 31, Monday afternoon). Please send us requests if you wish to present.

2. The next SUSYBSM meeting will be Nov 18.

Please let us know if you will present then. the agenda is at http://agenda.cern.ch/fullAgenda.php?ida=a055536 modification passwd: susybsm-1811

3. Analysis approvals

A new addition to the present system is that the notes should be announced to the note committee about 30 days before seeking approval. This is to allow the search for referees in time for the note since sometimes it takes more time than expected. Note submitters may also suggest one or two potential referees for their notes. Six notes are now scheduled for approval during CPT week. For SUSYBSM Vol.II analyses please contact us so that we make a schedule for analyses that are more or less "mature". Note that for example, for a hypothetical approval in mid-January we better notify and look for reviewers in the beginning of December.

4. High-Lumi descoped

Except for a few exceptions, volume one will not contain tools and reconstruction procedures for high luminosity data samples. Therefore it is decided that the high luminosity discussion in the pTDR will be downscoped: there will be no systematic study of the high luminosity reach in vol2.3. However, it is noted that a few high luminosity analyses have been actively pursued and these will not be discarded. The inclusion in the pTDR of these analyses will be discussed on a case by case basis. Analyses done with the 2*1033 pile up environment, up to a maximum of 60 fb-1 of integrated luminosity are not affected by this decision.

5. Systematics

** general CMS-In http://cmsdoc.cern.ch/documents/05/note05_013.pdf

** PDFs CMS-In to be circulated http://cmsdoc.cern.ch/cms/PRS/gentools/www/pdfuncert/uncert.html draft exists but is not released yet (very soon)

** detector: table to be circulated (as a function of lumi, P_T, etc)

Please take a look what are the major systematics in similar analyses as yours at the Tevatron.

6. CL final guidelines

to be circulated and posted in the SUSYBSM web-site; you will receive an alert when this is posted.

7. If you have a web-page with your analysis results/documentation

(a non-public or blind link) please send it to us- We will update the web pages to have the links to individual analyses as we get them. This will help at a later time the reviewers of the analyses also.

8. Reminder that only CMS approved results can be shown in the conferences.

9. An E-Flow effort has been launched by Patrick; we posted his message in the SUSYBSM news.

with best regards,

Luc, Maria.
