Long long time ago, I was involved in SUSY and B Physics. Now, I work for Higgs searches (in di-tau channel).
General considerations of data flow
- At the moment, the HLT output rate is 150 Hz of 1.5 MB events or 225 MB/s.
- The capability of the 2008 Storage Manager is 1 GB/s, if the 2009 upgrade is moved into 2008, it is 2 GB/s.
- The present link to the Tier0 is 10 Gb/s.
- We have 22 TB of storage buffer before the link to the Tier0.
Using Event displays
Many useful info
here.
For fireworks:
- logon to lxplus
- cd to an area where you have enough disk space to set up a CMSSW test release area (like your ~/scratch0 area)
- Then:
scram project CMSSW CMSSW_3_3_4
cd CMSSW_3_3_4/src
cmsenv
cmsShow /castor/cern.ch/user/c/ccecal/BEAM/Skims/InterestingEvents/bit40or41skim.root
Analysis of Global Runs
Running CMSSW on local/global runs
Due to changes in rawdata files, one needs to change
source =
PoolSource{
with
source =
NewEventStreamFileReader {
and that's all. The 'source' puts the
FEDRawData in the event.
Editing/committing papers
To download papers source, use
https://svnweb.cern.ch/cern/wsvn/tdr2/papers/
The old way:
project TDR
cvs co -l papers
cd papers/papers
cvs update -d CFT-09-013
cd CFT-09-013
eval `../../tdr runtime -csh`
tdr --style=cft b CFT-09-013
