Problems
The following problems are known to currently occur on Windows 10:
1. CERN user who logs on to their NICE Windows 10 immediately after installation may not see the contents of their home directory or desktop. Workaround:
Run Command Prompt
Type "gpupdate /force" and press Enter
log off and log on again
2. When multiple screens are connected to Windows 10 machines, the image may not be sharp on some screens because of an issue with scaling. Workaround: manually set the same scaling for each screen and reboot.
Adobe Flash and Adobe PDF Reader
Frequent vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash and Adobe PDF Reader are considered a major risk factor for the security of Windows computers. For this reason, Adobe Flash and Adobe PDF Reader are not enabled by default on NICE Windows 10 computers.
Adobe Flash is installed by default, but it is blocked in Microsoft Internet Explorer and disabled by default in Microsoft Edge. It can be temporarily re-enabled in Edge as explained at Adobe Flash Player on Edge.
Adobe PDF Reader is not installed by default and PDF documents will open directly in
Microsoft Edge. For full functionality of Adobe PDF Reader, it can be installed manually from CMF so that it can be used for trusted PDF documents using the "Open with" context menu. For security reasons, it is recommended not to open using Adobe PDF Readers documents from the Internet (received through e-mail or downloaded from web sites).
