Monday

I spent today working on the X0 project, trying to get Alex's code to work on my actual files. I added a layer to my gear files so that I could extract a kink angle at the position of the DUT but this didn't seem to work. When I tried again without a kink angle it works fine so I think I have to look closer at the options to be used at this step and make sure that I am making an insensitive layer correctly. I will look at this again tomorrow morning and hopefully find what I am doing wrong, if not I will email Alex and ask him for help

Tuesday

Attended the PhD Defence of Elena Yatsenko, she did exceptionally well in my opinion. Asked her for a copy of her PhD thesis so I could read it.

Wednesday

Writing scripts that will take a bunch of related files and eventually calculate X0 and X0 maps by doing an energy scan over these files.

Thursday

Trying to fix potential problems with Alex's bash scripts for iterative alignments:

• Making a flow chart of what scripts do what things
• Adding clauses to stop script when exit codes from Marlin occur [completed]
