Info

  • This pages summarise qualification task to prepare RPC data quality software for ATLAS detector operations in Run 3

Tast description

  • This qualification task will focus on developing tools for data quality (DQ) monitoring of RPC detector and trigger in Run 3. Main purpose of this task to implement DQ histograms with athena release 22 that will be used to evaluate quality of RPC detector and trigger data recorded during pp collisions. This task will be performed in three steps:
    • Study ATLAS results related to RPC detector data quality during 2018. Review existing RPC detector data quality criteria used in Run 2 and propose updated criteria for Run 3. Define RPC detector level variables that will be monitored for Run 3 operations.
    • Learn how run DQ framework with athena release 22. Learn how to implement DQ histograms. Learn how to use existing tools for analysis of RPC detector and trigger data.
    • Implement essential histograms for monitoring RPC detector and trigger quality, including hit multiplicity, noise rates and efficiency histograms.
