Madgraph sample validation plots
Below you can find a series of plots made using the
MatchChecker
tool from Madgraph for the private samples used for our study.
They show the smooth distributions for the differential jet rate around the cut used in phase space for the matching of jets (
). The phase space cut defines the:
- low- region where parton showers are responsible for generating jets (radiation)
- and the high- region where the matrix elements are responsible for generating the jets.
While clustering the partons, the maximum distance at which 2 jets are still resolved as 2 jets is called the differential rate for 2-jet to 1-jet configuration. In general the differential jet rate
is the maximum distance at which an event switches from N-jet to N-1 jet configuration when the clustering of partons takes place.
The plots shown below were obtained using virtuality ordered shower generation. In the full report, below one can take a look to the differences between this results and the ones obtained using
odered shower generation.
