Logbook

General info:

Trigger works such that we record events both during the spill and out of the spill. During the splill we record about 33% of the events, out of the muon spill about the 66%. This is true as soon as we have two spills. When three spills are available the fraction of events duringh the spill will be higher

Trigger during the spill: coincidence between external beam trigger + two EcoGas scintillator + our scintillator trigger

Our scintillator powered at 1200 V (current 343 uA)

Readout via DT5730 CAEN digitizer (larger time window w.r.t. v1742 CAEN digitizer in order to measure the rate of photons)

Logbook

General info:

Two RPC detectors: one 2 mm gas-gap with 1.8 mm electrodes (ATLAS style) and one 1 mm gas-gap with 1.3 mm electrodes

The 2 mm gas-gap is in front of the beam

Readout by oscilloscope

  • ch1: 1 mm gas-gap
  • ch2: 2 mm gas-gap
  • ch3: ionic signal of 1 mm gas-gap -> changed to ch4 since Wednesday 28 June (from Run 30 on)
  • ch4: calorimeter (PbWO4) signal -> changed to ch3 since Wednesday 28 June (from Run 30 on)
  • ext: beam trigger
Medipix and calorimeter used to count the particle multiplicity

ch4 of the oscilloscope shows an issue: baseline changes with the scale -> be careful to set the trigger threshold when the y-scale is changed

v1742 digitizer board (200 ns window)

RCC tube: 300 um gas gap size, 1 mm thick HPL, diametro esterno 18 mm, diametro interno DA INSERIRE, reisistivitą misurata da Alessandro 10^12 Ohm x cm

Per il prossimo test beam con RCC

1) Run con CO2 a pressione atmosferica come riferimento

2) Grande caduta di tensione per corrente alta: Vapp - RI, con RI fino a 4.2 kV. Come procedere?

How to take data with CAEN digitizer (CAEN v1742 or DT5730)

Launch WaveDump program from the Windows bottom bar (third from the left)

Insert S to start the acquisition

Insert W to start to write data

Insert Run Number and date

Set maximum number of events
