TGC Online SW

Migration to SLC5 + tdaq-02-00-02

  • Migration Strategy and Status
    • As presented in TGC Elec Meeting, I asked TDAQ Sysadmins to change SBC setting as follows;
      • A-Side: keep the current setting (tdaq-02-00-01 + SLC4) to debug hardware
      • C-Side: change to tdaq-02-00-02 + SLC5
    • Finally, the settings have been changed (thanks to Markus Joos!) at 18:00
      • To check the driver version loaded a SBC, check the following file
        • for cluster: /clients/daq_area/daq-drivers/cluster-configs or select_daq_driver_for_cluster
        • for client: /clients/daq_area/daq-drivers/clients-configs or select_daq_driver_for_client -l
    • All SBCs for C-Side are running with tdaq-02-00-02 + SLC5

Configuration SW

  • fix the bug found by Yasu concerning to the HPT Dset functionality in the standalone environment.
  • Daniel have compiled all packages successfully in the standalone environment with tdaq-02-00-02 + SLC5.
    • I try to compile in my private environment --> successfully!!
  • To do list (sorted by the priority)
    1. Check all functionality with tdaq-02-00-02 + SLC5 in the standalone environment.
      • take data with SLB test pulse
    2. upload the latest source codes into SVN repository
    3. update oks_xml files for grobal partition
    4. install the latest packages into the global partition
    5. Create LTPBypassConfig and LTPBypassedConfig to be able to run both global and local simultaneously.
      • BypassConfig --> for A-Side global partition
      • BypassedConfig--> for A-Side local partition
    6. Implement a user command to be able to scan not only read-only registers but also writable ones.
    7. Check the functionailty of monitoring for parameters posted to IS.
      • A bit for acknowledgement have been implemented, but not tested yet...
    8. check Tx/Errors0
    9. check monitoring functionality by create error state (e.g. optical link off) by hand (with Yuta).
    10. Develop a GUI panel to be able to reset frontend easily for stopless recovery.

Configuration Database

  • Nothing to be done.

Physics

  • Daily discussion:
    • no discussion today...
  • My interests
    • start to use Athena for TGC and Physics Analysis.
      • target
        1. To analyse TGC real data using ESD with an event display (Atlantis or VP1).
        2. To analyse VBF Higgs to tau tau MC data to estimate tau Yukawa coupling.
      • working server: lxatut14 (--> will be moved to guarneri)
      • working directory: /home/sugimoto/Athena/TestArea/15.1.0/PhysicsAnalysis/AnalysisCommon/UserAnalysis/
      • reference page: https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/Atlas/WorkBook
      • The following items were run successfully (using Athena 15.1.0).
        1. Athena Hellow world
        2. Event Generation using Pythia (Z->ee)
        3. G4 Full Simulation
        4. Digitizing Events
        5. Reconstruction --> ESD file was generated.
        6. Producing AOD --> ESD was converted to AOD file
        7. Produce AtlFast AOD instead of G4 Full Simulation
        8. Create ROOT Tuple from AOD
