This tutorial aims to provide a solid base to efficiently analyse data with ROOT. After an introduction to the C++ programming language, the main features of the ROOT toolkit are characterised: from histogramming to advanced fitting techniques.

Further material available is a "Diving into ROOT: a ROOT Guide for Beginners" in electronic form Guide PDF Examples Compressed Zip archive). This guide is a valuable support for the course: the basics of ROOT are discussed and simple examples are provided.
