Hi all,
I'm looking forward to seeing you in the CMS masterclass videoconference tomorrow, Saturday 15th March at 4:00 pm CT, 2:00 pm PT, 3:00 pm in Mexico City.
A few points and reminders:
- Your source for the videoconference agenda and the link to the videoconference is on the Indico page at
https://indico.cern.ch/event/306744/ . Note that this covers 2 videocons.
- You should reserve at least 30 min before the videoconference for physics discussion of results with the students.
- Each Institute should discuss their own results and then examine the results of one other to form 1-2 questions. You can see who asks questions of whom the Indico page.
- Info on how to connect to Vidyo is at
https://quarknet.i2u2.org/content/connecting-vidyo-0 .
- Join the videocon 15 min early to work out any final connection, audio, and video issues.
- in general, you can find a lot by exploring the masterclass library at
http://tinyurl.com/mc2014lib .
Your main online spreadsheet for student data analysis is at
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqwqmSKBaqY9dFRKM05lQnIxWWlMc1RSNW01V2tvQnc&usp=drive_web#gid=00 .
We've had some trouble with CMS masterclass online spreadsheets from time to time when there was high traffic. If you run into this problem with your spreadsheet, there are 2 recommended courses of action:
- Use the provided backup online spreadsheets (one per Institute) found in the Scratchpad section of the main spreadsheet.
- Download the Excel spreadsheet for students to use (also in the Scratchpad).
You can find instructions for these approaches at
https://quarknet.i2u2.org/content/running-cms-wzh-path-masterclass#jam . Please let me know if your run into a traffic issue and, if you do, how well our countermeasures worked.
Please send your questions and comments!
See you tomorrow,
Ken
