SingleTopWtChannelFastII

Introduction

single top associate production is one important discovery channel in LHC experiment. The channel interfere with top pair production. Method should be study how set cut for Wt channel with Fast simulation sample.

Matrix element production

The Wt channel production was included in MCatNLO34. The job run on SDU Local PC cluster machine: testarea/myMCatNLO/MCatNLO34.

  • Removal method
    • one step method used.Scripts file: STop_10TeV_runNLO_cteq6m_wtch_mt175.sh
    • two step way was rerun as Subtraction method(under),
      • 1) prep_integ_STop_10TeV_runNLO_cteq6m_wtch_mt175_DR.sh.
      • 2) MCatNLO_WTCH_10TeV_mt175_DR_prod.inputs
  • Subtraction method:
    • two step method: integral and production: testarea/myMCatNLO/MCatNLO34
      • integral scripts: prep_integ_STop_10TeV_runNLO_cteq6m_wtch_mt175_DS.sh, it read from file MCatNLO_WTCH_10TeV_mt175_DS_prod.inputs, and produce another inputs file and run it. Linux directory product.
        • mkdir wt_cteq6m_w0w0_DS_basic
        • copy Linux/WTCH_10TeV_pdf10000_a_bs.data, WTCH_10TeV_pdf10000_b_bs.data, WTCH_10TeV_pdf10000.integrals, WTCH_10TeV_pdf10000NLOinput, to wt_cteq6m_w0w0_DS_basic/.
      • Production step: MCatNLO_WTCH_10TeV_mt175_DS_prod.inputs. No sh file was used.
        • rm -r Linux
        • ./MCatNLO_ WTCH_10TeV_mt175_DS_prod.inputs. it will compile but not run.
        • mv Linux/WTCH_10TeVNLO_EXE_LHAPDF , wt_cteq6m_w0w0_DS_basic/
        • cd wt_cteq6m_w0w0_DS_basic/
        • edit WTCH_10TeV_pdf10000NLOinput, prefix and seed for rnd. save as WTCH_10TeV.00001.ProductionInput
        • prod.sh will do it automatic.

Event generation

  • Removal method:
    • I once difine the joboption with run number 108999 to do this step for Removal method. The job was done on SDU PC cluster under release 14.4.0. The command is csc_evgen08_trf.py. The job locate: testarea/14.4.0/ST10TeV/Job/gen_mc34_cteq6m_108999_w0w0_mt175.sh
    • The samples locate: /castor/cern.ch/user/c/cfeng/ST_WtCH/evg_mcatnlo34_cteq6m_10TeV. 3 files each include 8334 events
  • Removal method(new):
    • redo it with csc_evgen08new_trf.py. The input events file were reproduced with two step method, which same as DS method.
    • This step did with release patch 14.2.25.8 on lxplus.cern.ch.
    • the sample locate: /castor/cern.ch/user/c/cfeng/ST_WtCH/evg_mcatnlo34_cteq6m_10TeV_DR. 5 files, each with 8334 events
  • Subtraction method:
    • This step did with release patch 14.2.25.8 on lxplus.cern.ch.
    • the sample locate: /castor/cern.ch/user/c/cfeng/ST_WtCH/evg_mcatnlo34_cteq6m_10TeV_DS. 5 files, each with 8334 events

Event generation CHECK

  • the job run on SDU local PC cluster under release 14.4.0, Based on AnalysisExample. The jobOption is ReadEvgennFile_jobOptions.py.
  • the output root file locate SDU machine: ~/data/evg_ck_ntup/evgen_ck_nlo34_cteq6m_Wtch_DS_new.ntuple.root
  • plot of the result: ~/testarea/check/wt_evg/check.cxx/check_new.cxx

ATLFASTII

  • This step did with release patch 14.2.25.8 on lxplus.cern.ch.
  • command line: csc_simul_reco_trf.py MC8.108346.Wt_McAtNlo34_cteq6m_Jimmy_new.00${infileNo}.pool.root MC8.108346.wt_DR_mt175_w0w0_McAtNlo34_cteq6m_Jimmy_new_AOD.00${outfileNo}.root ${Maxevt} ${skipNo} ${rndNo} ATLAS-GEO-02-01-00 ${digiseed1} ${digiseed2} QGSP_BERT jobConfig.VertexPosFastIDKiller.py NoTrackSlimming.py,FastSimulationJobTransforms/FastCaloSimAddCellsRecConfig.py /afs/cern.ch/atlas/www/GROUPS/DATABASE/pacman4/DBRelease/DBRelease-6.5.1.tar.gz NONE
  • the job locate: /afs/cern.ch/user/c/cfeng/scratch0/testarea/14.2.25.8/atlfastII/wtch/sub_108346_new_*.sh
