This page is mostly a reference for personal use. Since I'm lazy and like shortcuts when typing, here I'mm adding some abbreviations that may be not so standard. Since my memory sometimes fails, I'm adding as well definitions and pointers to documents defining some words. Definitions between parentheses (~ ...) are to be taken as short inprecise idea of the term; see the referred document for a better definition

• CE, computing element (~ a queue with computing resources visible from the Grid), as defined in the GLUE Schema
• DaB, datablock, as defined in the Atlas.DDM project
• DaS, dataset (~ set of related data sparse in multiple files), various defeinitions are in ATLAS documents
• WN, worker node (~a host in a cluster), as defined in the GLUE Schema
• SE, storage element (~ a managed storage space visible from the Grid), as defined in the GLUE Schema
