Notes for Lepton+Jets top analysis

  • Create ntuples with new mini AOD version (data and MC)
  • Generator level study of the fiducial region
    • check how fidcounter histogram is filled in plugins/MiniAnalyzer.cc
    • make script to compute the variation of the acceptance in the fiducial region using fidcounter histogram in a ttbar sample
    • the name of the systematic variations are stored in the generator_initrwgt histogram
  • Do basic data and MC control distributions
    • modify src/ReadTree.cc to include a flag to separate the W+jets background in W+b/W+c/W+light using the counting of jets
  • Setup filling of histogram to derive cross section from (b-jet counting and SecVtx mass counting)
  • Study fit properties using Higgs combination tool (MC only study)
  • Data-driven background estimation of QCD from non-isolated lepton control region
  • Tag and probe to check trigger and lepton id/iso scale factors
