Infrastructure:

  • Infrastructure looks good, few errors.
  • Monitoring:
    • MIT needs to finish upgrading servers. xrootd5 should work, but in-meeting tests show something is up.
    • Caltech needs to update to latest release.
  • Upgrading Wisc/UCSD/UNL to 3.2.
  • Wisc had issues with xrootd-lcmaps and random memory corruption issues.
  • Seeing more activity from Europe.
    • UK, Italy primarily.
    • CERN EOS is in progress.
    • Not heard back from Ian Fisk about a CERN redirector.
      • KB got in contact with Ian - in the task queue, hasn't bubbled to the top.

Software:

  • Monitoring: tuning some of the monitoring graphs
    • Lots of cleaning of odds-n-ends.
    • Anonymized table is coming before next meeting.
    • Looking at ML alarms for auth failures.
  • CMSSW updates:
    • TFile.Prefetching for asynchronous IO.
    • Got other IO improvements ready for CMSSW 5.2 and 6.
  • Daily reports:
    • Yaling's finished the xrootd.log / Gratia merger
    • Almost finished with replacing Igor's report
  • Dan: Made progress on hardening Parrot/CVMFS for official CRAB jobs.
    • Stuck on BNL. MWT2 next week?
  • Conversation of smarter redirection algorithms.
    • MT will start parsing the redirection packets from xrootd-itb.
    • Forward the plaintext info to Wisc?
  • Daniel will be looking at recording info into TTrees.
    • Likely will have Yaling look into these.

AOB:

  • Got some follow ups from Doug Johnson after the T3 meeting. Probably should follow up with him and Marguerite.
