October Exercise (OCTX) on QCD MinBias and Underlying Events Analysis


Introduction
  • Use the common low-pT skim or the whole RECO.
  • The analysis is related to the Underlying Event activity measurement in charged jets events. A detailed description is here QCD-07-003.
The aim is to provide plots for the early paper analysis QCD-09-007: Measurement of the Underlying Event in Jet Topologies using Charged Particle and Momentum densities at 10(7) TeV.

People involved

  • Use ASGC T2 and any T2s where the data is available.

PD

  • As the MinBias and QCD_Pt15 SD samples are highly pre-scaled, we originally planed to make a PD ourselves from the RECO sample. However, due to various delays, this is not really proceed.

SD skims

  • STEPS for 10 TeV SD
    • DONE STEP0: Locate the SD we need (HLT bit based selection), MinBias and JetXX streams
    • * (STEP0-low statistics because of additional prescales: Locate the SD we need: SD_MinBiasPixel, SD_Jet15U, SD_Jet30U_Quad_Fwd, SD_Jet50U)
    • DONE STEP1: The priority user is expected to run via CRAB over the PDs (or SDs) and create the group skims (low_pT_PD_AOD or low_pT_SD_AOD)
    • DONE STEP2: publish the AOD output in local DBS
    • DONE STEP3: Run the UEAnalysis via CRAB on the skim to validate skim and then send to ResultStore service
    • Work in progress, under construction STEP4: Transfer the datasets in ASGC T2 (and an additional group-T2)

  • STEPS for 7 TeV SD
    • DONE STEP0: Locate the SD we need (HLT bit based selection), MinBias and JetXX streams
    • * Subscribing all needed samples to T2_Taiwan. At the same time, use other T2s.
    • DONE STEP1: The priority user is expected to run via CRAB over the PDs (or SDs) and create the group skims (low_pT_PD_AOD or low_pT_SD_AOD)
    • DONE STEP2: publish the AOD output in local DBS
    • Work in progress, under construction STEP3: Run the UEAnalysis via CRAB on the skim to validate skim and then send to ResultStore service
    • STEP4: Transfer the datasets in ASGC T2 (and an additional group-T2)
