Preliminary advice

If you are new-comers to CERN, then I advise to bring with you already signed by your University's ATLAS team leader one of the registration forms (either the standard or the short term) available from the Users' Office

You will need to visit the Users' Office to register as a CERN User on your first day. Once you have registered as a User, you can go to the ATLAS Secretariate in Building 40 to be registered as a member of ATLAS and to obtain computer accounts.

If you have visited CERN in the past, but are no longer a current User, you need to complete the "Extension of Contract" form, and also have it signed by your team leader, before you come to CERN.

Once you are correctly registered as a current User, you can then go to the Film Badge Office (TIS/RP Service), Building 24-E-011 to obtain a film badge. You must have a CERN film badge to work on the SCT testbeam or irradiations. A short term badge, not requiring a medical certificate, is sufficient unless you plan to spend all Summer at CERN working on testbeams and irradiations.
