Study Report (11th June, 2009)

Today's Meeging

  • 10:00~: N-Lab Meeting (could not participate because of the high rate test)

High rate test

  • 9:00~: start to establish the same environment as yesterday.
    • ROD configuration failed because of IS server problem
      • could not update information after disable SSW8 (Inner) from FE link 9 on ROD on the TGC parameters panel.
      • discussed with Daniel and fixed by removing the repository (e.g. tgc.TgcRunParameters_RodC11) by hand from IS monitor panel.
    • C02 could not be configured because one JRC route for PSB (0x02830003) SLB0/1 could not taken in 10 times.
      --> run with C03, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 11, 12
  • SFI complained again because of the inconsistency of BCID between TGC ROD and CTP ROD.
    • the inconsistency was happened when we change L1 prescale key on the fly from 10kHz to 50kHz
      --> need to discuss with Thilo and Lorne.
  • SEU on C05
    • When the SEU was detected on ROD status panel, non-zero values were observed by using JtagAccess command.
      --> Disabled from global. (Before disabling the sector, we should shoot the PsReset and check the behavior...)
  • BCR delay on TTCvi
    • In the oks xml file for tdaq-01-09-01, it was defined as 125.
    • But the latest one is defined as 25. --> difference is 100. (consistent with the report of SFI yesterday)
    • I don't know who changes, but I'll change it to the original value (125) and the offset on ROD (3563). --> not yet.
  • 15:00~: run with 50kHz except for C05
  • 17:00~: test new ROD firmware (don't know the detail)

TGC Online SW

Configuration SW

  • Migration to tdaq-02-00-02
    Compile OK (except for ROD, Gnam package)
    OKS xml OK
    State Transition OK (TTC and FE, No HW Access mode)
    Drivers Not yet (ask TDAQ people after compiling all packages)

  • Migration to SLC5
    • Not yet.
    • Start to discuss with the muon online sw experts.
  • Bug
    • Some values are reported as ERROR even though the read back value is equaled to the reference value (tdo = tdi).

Configuration Database

  • Check out parameters from Oracle with the latest API --> OK
    • Some bugs/modifications are requested to Daniel.
      --> mainly inconsistency between Text and Oracle.
  • Download parameters to real ASICs/FPGAs using TDAQ IGUI --> OK
    • Elapsed time to download parameters from DB
      Text ~1.2 sec/sector
      Oracle ~ 8.4 sec/sector
    • ~25 sec/segment --> ~150sec in total to configure
