The release pinning web page

Pinning a release in a site can be done here. This is usefull for releases that local users doesn't want to be seen removed from their site even is the release is obsolete from the analysis or production point of view. Obsolete releases are automatically removed from the all the sites (or expected to be) by the software installation team without any notice to the site manager. Meanwhile a pinned released at a specific site would be spared from automatic deletion. Therefore, the local user should pinned all the releases he wants to keep at the site. All the changes are recorded into the database, name (DN) of the user who did the request.

To pin a release, you should :

  • select pin under Actions on the main installation web page.
  • Then you need choose the site name where you want to have the release pinned. This will show all the releases tagged on that sites (under release name) as well as the already pinned releases.
  • Under release name, you need to select the release and pinned it by clicking the Add button. You should then see it appeared in the list of pinned released below.
  • You might want also to remove the pin from some releases. To do so you just need to tick the checkbox under the remove of the pinned release list and click the remove button below.
