VPT DC gain and pulsed gain
For the DC gain measured at RIE (at B = 0 T), g:

This can be re-phrased assuming a dynode-anode net gain, g

where the 0.5 is the fraction of i
pc going direct to the anode, and also the fraction of i
pc going to the dynode
since the anode transparency factor is 0.5.
Therefore:

Thus:

For pulsed gain, the direct photo-cathode to anode current does not contribute since the RC time is so large wrt timescales of 40 ns.
Only the photo-current to the dynode counts, thus:
